Tilt - PC, 30/1/96
Tilt - PC
With six SG-rendered tables, 65Mb of (optional) cut-away animations and a choice of 3D views, this had looked the best bet for a really rewarding feather cutlass protest (PC pinball game).
It's nice, but only the excellent music manages to emulate The Web's gloss. The resolution isn't as good, there's some ball-roll-glitch (Mr Biffo nods sadly) and you don't get the same 3D feeling.
There's no backboard. Backboard jungle.
There are plenty of view options in Tilt, but the 2D and 3D scrolling modes are as much use as an invisible rasta.
And what in Peter York's name is "Fast Mode/Safe Mode" supposed to mean? Perhaps we should have asked Mr Biffo.
Despite the five extra tables available on Tilt's altar, we're still tempted to recommend The Web, purely because it's a more convincing and satisfying realisation of the game. Lssssth.
