Warcraft 2 - PC
We're really stupid. In all the fuss about Command & Conquer (last year's top-selling PC game by a mile), we forgot how similar it was to Warcraft.
Substitute gold for tiberium, orcs for NOD and "as you wish" for "movin' out", and there it all is. Was.
Now here it is again, but this time they've given it the full C&C horns - apocalyptic music, a more mission-based structure and troop-carrying vehicles.
Warcraft 2 is so similar to Command & Conquer it's not worth explaining the gameplay basics.
It is worth explaining the Windows 95 map builder, modem and 8-player network options, even though these should not affect your purchase decision.
Choose: does the more strategic WC2 (harvest oil/wood as well as gold; capture islands to build supply chains) hold greater appeal than the more brutally satisfying C&C add-on disk?
