Aces Of The Deep - PC, 15/1/96

So nearly the title of Mr Biffo's autobiography, this is the W95 version of Sierra's pleasingly plausible U-boat sim.

The hallmark of any good sim is that it can be enjoyed even before you work out what the gargling ball you're supposed to be doing, and Aces has that mark right there - there on its eye!

Real scenarios, difficulty levels, big convoy, little convoy: here it is.

Aces Of The Deep is one of the most successful W95 games in our lives.

The SVGA-but-not-so-as-you'd-guess graphics can't have posed many worries, but all the FMV and cries of "Schnorbitz!" are intact. Stop: the original was Win 3.1. We are on pills.

So you see, a load more missions than before and a novelty "IBM voice compatibility" feature, which only works if you talk backwards. But that cannot be allowed to be true!
