Medusa Stand-In

4/7/98-6/7/98

4 July 1998 - MEDUSA STAND-IN

I've got a new job as a stand-in for Medusa, the mythical Greek woman who had snakes in her hair, and who, if you looked at her, would turn you to stone.

It's my job to cover for her while she has her lunch, or is off sick. Unfortunately, I lied on my CV. I have neither snakes in my hair, nor the ability to turn Greek warriors into statues. And I'm not a woman either. Thankfully, Medusa hasn't noticed this yet, which is probably a good thing.

6 July 1998 - MEDUSA STAND-IN

Being a temporary stand-in for Medusa is hard, but rewarding, work. My job brings me into contact with all sorts of people, but primarily Greek warriors.

I had a couple of harpies in here the other day, who wanted to nick the gold. Mercifully, they'd left their shooters at home. The worst part of my job is when I have to turn people into stone. Lacking such abilities, I have to warn them that I'm about to turn them into stone, but if they don't run away after that, I just have to punch them.
