Example of one of the many reader complaints that were sent in:

Dear Teletext,

As a loyal reader of Teletext, and in particular the Teletext tri-weeky (formerly daily) magazine Digitiser (P480, formally P670) I find your attitude toward it disturbing, when you take into account the huge viewing figures it creates. In the past, I have found Digitiser as a funny aswell as hugely informative, enough so to read it daily.

However, with these "improvements", we get news 3-4 days late, no comedy element which has helped make Digitiser hugely successful, and "Features", from which I can judge by the website which I've visited about 5 times in the last 6 months, which will be totally crap which a monkey being sick over could create better articles. It's just isn't what Digitiser should be about.

Surely, rather then removing one of the few decent things on Teletext, you can remove some of the music pages which hardly anyone reads because of the frankly boring format the information is given in, or maybe the Nick Fisher's page (P146) of which the only use of it is as a comedy page.

And look at the "Gamestation" section on Ceefax. Read it. People who have never played Computer Games in there life writing in complaining that there is no Pokémon on the Dreamcast. People who have been playing computer games for 12 months, and then the news page is merely a bunch of quotes from Press Releases about games, and even then it's usually three weeks late unless your ridiculously lucky.

I hope, beyond hope that you reconsider this move, before Digitiser is shut down because of a low amount of users.

A disgrunted reader... "
